What a Time to Be a Puma!

A letter from our superintendent

We are in the home stretch, Pumas! As we enter the last few weeks of the academic year, I have to commend our staff, families and student body on the incredible work we have accomplished leading up to this. In just the last few months, our amazing students and staff have represented Indianapolis Metropolitan High School at academic competitions such as Innovate WithIN, been awarded prestigious honors recognizing their efforts in mentorship (congratulations, Coach Jackson!), volunteered at local elementary schools and so much more. It's been a big year for our Puma family and I am grateful for the opportunity to share in these moments together.

As we look ahead, please know that our support does not end with your students. Indianapolis Met and Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana are here to support YOU as well as your student! If you or a family member could use assistance in finding a job, training for career advancement, adult education (receiving a high school diploma), nurse counseling for first-time mothers, criminal record expungement or re-entry services, please reach out to us at (317) 524-4000 or contact your student’s family empowerment coach.

Go Pumas!

Congratulations to our Boys' Basketball team on winning the IHSAA State Sectionals Championship! Their 39-33 win against University High School earned the team their first sectional title since 2014!

Congratulations to Daesha Contrell who was been named  as a Goodwill Outstanding Student Achiever!
When she is not scoring for the Lady Pumas in volleyball and basketball, Daesha may be found working at Puma Sips, serving as an Indy Met tour guide, or assisting students in the America Sign Language course she helped launch last year. Daesha embodies our PUMA Promise and we are proud to have her represent our school!
