Hi there,

I am reaching out to you on behalf of the HubSpot Product Team. We recently identified and corrected an issue that affected Permissions within your HubSpot account.

In all cases we’ve reviewed so far, the impact has been minimal. However, in the interest of transparency, I wanted to ensure you were made aware of the issue, impact and resolution.

What Happened?

On October 30th, we rolled out new “view” and “edit”  permissions for deals and tickets, as explained in this product blog post.

There was a bug in this update that allowed certain users to view or edit deals or tickets that they may have not been intended to have access to.

What Users Were Impacted?

The users impacted had (1) been added to your HubSpot Portal between October 30th and today, November 30th, and (2) been granted permissions by {Company name} which allowed them to view all contacts/companies and to edit/view deals or tickets..

These users were able to view/edit deals and tickets that were either unassigned or owned by another user on the same team.

Our Response & Next Steps

As of 9.30am EDT today, we have resolved the issue for all affected CRM users.

If you are still concerned, we recommend you review your user permissions to ensure everything is working correctly. You can do this by visiting CRM Settings → Users and Teams to configure.

Most importantly, we’re sorry for this mistake. We value you and every member of your team as a HubSpot customer and strive each day to build tools to help you grow. We hope that our transparency in this situation shows our continued commitment to you, our customers.

Sincerely,

Dylan Sellberg
