Dear there,
After a short, well-deserved break, we hit the ground running in early January. This month, we announced exciting new partnerships, had a TV show cameo, and got some great feedback on our new 3WordPhoto app, with lots of users sharing their labelled photos.
The highlights are below, with plenty more on our news page.
We were at CES in Las Vegas, where Mercedes’ parent company Daimler announced it had made an investment in what3words. Mercedes-Benz also showcased its new MBUX infotainment unit, complete with what3words integration: the new A-Class will be the first car to sport the MBUX, and drivers will be able to input 3 word addresses by voice or text to get directions to precise destinations.

what3words has also been built into SHEnetics, a custom voice-controlled assistant that is being used in automotive, avionics, hospitality, healthcare and consumer tech, and #AccessibleOlli, a self-driving bus built by Local Motors and powered by IBM’s Watson.
Here’s Stevie Wonder checking out #AccessibleOlli:

what3words also joined LL Cool J and Chris O’Donnell on S9E13 of NCIS:LA, titled “Cac Tu Nhan”. The agents find three words that lead them to their kidnapped colleague Hetty. Exciting times!

Lots of people have been adding 3 word addresses on their business cards. To help customers and contacts find you, we’ve partnered up with MOO to create card templates with a what3words icon next to which you can add your 3 word address. You can even personalise the back with images taken with the 3WordPhoto app! Best of all, MOO will give new customers 30% off. Find out more here.
Finally, here are some of our favourite 3WordPhotos. To create your own, download the 3WordPhoto app (available for iOS and Android) and make sure you tag us @what3words or use #what3words when you share them on Instagram.

Best wishes,

Chris Sheldrick
