What's for dinner?
Happy August!

I get this question a lot. Trying to decipher which foods are healthy and which ones aren't can seem complicated but it really doesn't have to be. The easiest way to think of this is to picture the grocery store. Most grocery stores are set up like in the image below, with the healthy food along the perimeter of the store.

Notice that the fresh fruits and vegetables are along the right side and the deli, meats, eggs and dairy are along the back. The vast majority of your calories should come from this L-shaped section of the grocery store (avoid the bakery!). It's the stuff in the aisles that wreck your health and your waistline- cereal, bread, baked goods, chips, frozen treats, cookies, etc. Most of these things are not even real food. They are manufactured in a lab, loaded with nasty chemicals and have no real nutritional value.

If you stick to this very easy way of thinking about what you should eat, it is almost impossible to not lose weight and keep it off. And you will feel a heck of a lot better too. Try it. It works every time.
