Viaccess-Orca Innovation Award

Best Innovation in Immersive Content Creation

We are delighted to have won the Best Innovation in Immersive Content Creation Award at TV Connect 2017 recently in London, received by VOs Mounir Toutah, Director, Pre-Sales and Atika Boulgaz, Communications Manager. The Show's theme this year was 'Disruptive Convergence: Redefining the audience-driven TV World', and a variety of topics were discussed, including Content Distribution, Big Data, VR and AR, LTE Broadcast and more. Ludo Rubin, our Director of Product Marketing, spoke about "How to monetize your competitor’s TV subscribers." He discussed examples of how a Pay-TV operator can more easily promote and sell live PPV events online, and expand their customer base outside the traditional broadband or TV customers, while generating revenues from them.

One great example of this innovation in immersive content creation can be seen in this breathtaking video, produced with Citroën Racing and Radio France in partnership with Firstage and 3D Sound Labs.

More insights into VR and innovation were covered recently in an article by Alain Nochimowski, Executive VP of Innovation. Titled 'How VR 360-Degree Video and Big Data are changing the Pay TV Landscape Enabling More Immersive Experiences', he notes the impact that immersive content and big data are having on television, highlighting the specific challenges operators face, and strategies they can use for leveraging data to provide the ultimate TV experience.
