Mount Holyoke College

Dear Mount Holyoke community,

As we look to the beginning of the school year, we want to give you a brief update on the new Community Center construction project.

If you are just returning to campus, you will notice the large construction zone behind Blanchard and Wilder Hall. A great deal of preliminary work for the project took place over the summer and construction of the new addition will begin in the coming weeks.

At this time, Blanchard has reopened and will be under normal operations for the 2016–2017 academic year. Some important items to note:

  • Some entrances to Blanchard will remain closed for the duration of the year. Please take note of wayfinding signage in and around the building to avoid areas under construction. All such areas will be well marked.
  • The entrances to Blanchard by Skinner Green and by the stairwell door near the Ciruti Center and facing Porter Hall will remain open for the duration of the year. They should be considered the main access points to the building.
  • Lower Lake Road will reopen to vehicular traffic today. Parts of it may be closed periodically throughout the year as the construction process warrants. We will notify the community when closures are expected to take place.
