june parks news

Friend, our city, once so unbearable it was called "hell with the lid off," is now a pretty great place to staycation. This month, forego long flights or drives somewhere faraway for gorgeous shady trails, free outdoor concerts, picnics with friends, and so much more right here in Pittsburgh's parks.

Tai Chi in the Plaza

oodles of park events this month

Center yourself with Tai Chi, lay out a blanket at an outdoor movie, jam out at a Plaza concert, and so much more this month. The summer calendar in the parks is packed with events that are free, fun, and family-friendly.

20th anniversary spotlight: schenley plaza

We're celebrating 20 years! Each month we're highlighting incredible park monuments, projects or spaces that we've gotten to work on over the years.

Schenley Plaza is Oakland's green oasis. Formerly an asphalt parking lot, this much-loved community greenspace attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year, providing gathering places, entertainment, and a grand entrance to Schenley Park. And this year, this beloved community spot is turning 10! Celebrate with us by stopping by the Plaza for any of the incredible free classes, programs and concerts happening this summer.
