Vibrator apps reach their climax

So this is a thing I didn't know about but now I do, and so now you have the pleasure of knowing about it too. While I don't technically know that July is their crescendo for new user growth, daily downloads are starting to slowly decline. Plus, I couldn't resist the headline. Since March 1st, the top 20 vibrator apps have averaged 1.1 million monthly downloads (new installs) globally. July specifically has seen 1.6 million downloads. This 5 month span is a 171% increase over the 5 previous month span, which recorded an average of 404.2k downloads per month. The apps were already growing before the pandemic, but since March, the pace has increased. Now, what exactly is a vibrator app? It's an app that enables you to control the vibration feature on your phone. Some, like iVibrate, claim to be alleviate stress and be calming. Others are more forward about what they are mostly likely to be used for, and the user reviews of these apps are telling.

A shot across two bows

JioMart's mobile app just launched mid-month in India and kissed the daily downloads of its two biggest competitors, Amazon and Walmart (Flipkart). JioMart is owned by Reliance Industries whose investors compete directly with Amazon and Walmart across different industries. JioMart offers Indians free home delivery with no minimum order on apparel and groceries. Amazon doesn't necessarily want a fight though and is considering taking a 10% stake in Reliance Retail to solidify its long term strategy in India.
