RISF Fall 2020 Cycle Now Open
The Fall 2020 cycle of the Research and Innovation Seed-Funding Program (RISF) is now open. Proposals are due Thursday, October 22, 2020, by 11:59 p.m. Investigators may request up to $25,000 in funding. The program requires a 25% cost match from internal or external sources.

Sony Sponsored Research Opportunity

Sony has announced two programs to partner with Universities in a broad range of research areas. The Faculty Innovation Award will provide up to $100,000 for 12-month projects. An extensive list of relevant keywords is available here. The Focused Research Award will award up to $150,000 for projects in one of thirteen focused research themes listed here.

TEARS Certification for the 2019-2020 Academic Year
If a portion of your academic year effort was charged to or cost-shared against a sponsored research project (ledger 5 project) then you will soon be receiving an effort report from The Employee Activity Reporting System (TEARS). Employees are required to certify their academic year effort report by September 30th.

Spotlight on Sponsored Research: Robert Clark, Steve Allen and Beth Ritter, Sloan Foundation - Demand for Older Workers: Variation by Industry and Firm Characteristics

The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation has provided $249,957 to support the research of Robert Clark on a project titled, Demand for Older Workers: Variation by Industry and Firm Characteristics. Clark and his co-investigators, Steve Allen and Beth Ritter, are conducting research that will provide key insights on the demand for older workers and how firms are modifying their employment conditions and compensation programs. A key component of the work is to understand how firms in different industries are responding to the aging labor force and the desire of employees to delay retirement.
