ABOUT THE EVENT

LandingPage_Image

BVA created Virtual Commerce to keep the industry connected during a time when business has been anything but usual. Based on the positive response and participation, this has now become an ongoing series.

On March 25th, we hosted our first Virtual Commerce event (over Zoom) in front of more than 2,000 RSVPs, alongside 25 DTC industry leading speakers, providing hours of engaging content on the crisis' impact on commerce, and what it means for companies, customers, and more.

We did it again on May 5th... and we're excited to announce that we'll be back for round three on Wednesday, July 29th.

Join us as we talk about "Navigating Commerce Without a Compass," covering everything from COVID-19, to Black Lives Matter and a minority-led panel discussing ways we can diversify our own industry, to the chaos of the US presidential election coupled with continuous economic turmoil across the globe.

We can't wait to see you on July 29th - RSVP below!

Session 1: Navigating Commerce Without a Compass
Change after change has hit the commerce space this year. From COVID-19, to Black Lives Matter, to the chaos of the US presidential election and continuous economic turmoil across the globe, brands have been forced to adapt in ways they’ve never adapted before. Join us as we discuss a problem we’ve all been trying to solve: when uncertainty becomes the only thing we can rely on, how can brands react quickly and intelligently, yet still be prepared for the future?

Session 2: Marketing to a Moving Target
In the midst of rapidly shifting consumer behavior and spending preferences, DTC marketers have been forced to adjust strategy in order to reach an evolving audience. Add in slashed budgets, public scrutiny around responses to a pandemic, plus a national fight for equality, and all bets are off. In this panel, we’ll dig into the impact economic uncertainty has on commerce, new acquisition channels that are gaining traction in today’s reality, how remote work and being at home plays a role, and more, as we redefine our target market.

Session 3: Diversifying the Commerce Industry
As the Black Lives Matter movement sweeps across the United States, let’s reflect on the commerce space - an industry that is predominantly white and that often skews male. We are listening, and we know there is work to be done. Join us as we look this problem in the face, embrace transparency and activism, and come together as an industry to discuss a fundamental problem that must be solved.

Session 4: Verticals Ripe for Commerce Disruption
In this panel, we’ll hear from private equity and venture capitalists on rising trends in capital investment. As we brace ourselves for an increasingly digital future, which verticals are hot right now? Which are ripe for innovation? Join us for a panel discussion and learn how, and where, firms are investing capital as the world shifts and the digitization of specific industries, like food and beverage, takes off.

Session 5: A Fast & Forced Digital Transformation
The digital transformation of commerce has been coming for years, but as a result of COVID-19, can no longer be ignored. With physical retail suddenly shut down due to quarantine and stay-at-home mandates, brands that historically only sold in-store have been forced to get online quickly. Their typical platform of choice? Shopify. Join us as we discuss this digital movement and hear first-hand how these brands are adapting to their new reality and how the increase in online competition may pose a threat to the original, digital-first brands.
