Hey there,

Happy Friday 😎

Mobile Signal

Lowe's (LOW) is expected to report earnings on 5/19. New installs of its mobile app have increased 8.5% YoY and are climbing significantly higher so far in Q2.

App Acquisitions

Intel is said to be acquiring Moovit. There is speculation the addition could help Intel in the area of autonomous driving. Moovit's consumer facing app is similar to Google Maps and been installed 6.1M times in the past 90 days.

Modern Games has acquired Beasts of Balance. This is a physical game with a mobile app component. The mobile app has been downloaded more than 64k times since launch in 2016.

Raining rubber

Correlation isn't necessarily causation but I won't miss an opportunity to talk sports in a pandemic. The Last Dance on ESPN (yes, that app's installs and usage are up big too) is the story of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls in during the 1997-98 NBA season. I'm not even a big basketball fan but I'm loving every minute of it and so is America. Mobile app downloads and sessions of popular sneaker marketplaces are rising since the start of the TV series, likely due to people trying to get their feet into a pair of Air Jordans.

They are so cute together

The price of Bitcoin has been steadily increasing since mid-March. For years, the trajectory of this and the downloads of cyrptowallet, Coinbase have danced together. Every now and again they will split up ever so briefly, but they always find their way back to each other. It's quite romantic when you think about it. In the past 30 days, Coinbase has been downloaded 1.4 million times.
