Tuesday, April 7, 2020

Best Western has announced that guests may cancel at any time, as long as cancellation occurs at least 24 hours before arrival and cancellation is on or before June 30, 2020. Hotels will waive all cancellation fees. The chain does advise, however, “A more restrictive cancellation policy may apply to a limited number of high-demand dates at individual hotels.”

For existing reservations, changes or cancellation can be made without a charge up to 24 hours prior to arrival; this includes reservations with non-cancellable pre-paid rates. The change or cancellation must be made by June 30, 2020. For a limited time, Choice is also allowing guests making new reservations to change or cancel at no charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled arrival date.

All existing Hilton reservations, regardless of rate rules, can be changed or canceled at no charge up to 24 hours prior to arrival day, for stays on or before June 30, 2020. Any new reservations that are booked before June 30, 2020 for any future arrival date can be changed or canceled at no charge, up to 24 hours before scheduled arrival. If guests cancel a rate which required advanced payment or deposit, it may take up to 30 days to complete a refund request.

Existing Hyatt reservations for travel through June 30, 2020 can be changed or canceled at no charge up to 24 hours before scheduled arrival, including Advance Purchase Rate reservations. Reservations made between April 1, 2020 and June 30, 2020 – for any future arrival date – can be changed or canceled at no charge up to 24 hours before scheduled arrival. For existing bookings made through April 6, 2020, all IHG hotels can be changed or canceled for stays up to June 30, 2020. This excludes Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR and the Taiwan, where cancellation fees will be waived for stays up to April 30, 2020. IHG is advising they will do everything they can to process refunds as quickly as possible, if the booking required a deposit or payment in advance, but refunds may take up to 90 days. IHG also warns that exclusions may apply for periods with special event restrictions or peak demand weeks.

For new and existing reservations, Marriott will allow full changes or cancellation without a charge (including pre-paid rates) up to 24 hours prior to arrival, as long as the change or cancellation is made by June 30, 2020. Guests may modify or cancel all existing and new reservations (in all countries and all Radisson Hotel Groups hotels worldwide) for stays until June 30, 2020.  If a deposit was paid for an existing reservation, Radisson will credit the full amount for redemption at the same property, until March 31, 2021. New reservations made between April 1 and June 30, 2020, for any future date can be changed or canceled at no charge, up to 24 hours prior arrival, including reservations with the advanced purchase “non-cancelable” rate. For reservations after June 30, 2020, Radisson’s normal cancellation policy will be back in effect.

For existing direct bookings through May 31, 2020 cancellation or change penalties will be waived if the change/cancellation request is received at least 24 hours prior to arrival. Any guests who are prohibited by law from traveling will have their cancellation or change penalties waived. For new or existing bookings with arrivals after May 31, 2020, all Wyndham properties are required to accommodate non-cancelable rate reservation changes if the request is received at least 48 hours prior to arrival and the same number of room nights (or more) are booked for a future stay.
