Hotel Chains Announce Employee Furloughs

Thursday, April 2, 2020

As a result of the effects of the COVID-19 outbreak, major hotel brands—including Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt—have announced that many of their employees are to have reduced schedules or furloughs. Many hotel locations are also being shut down, as demand has plummeted.

Marriott, Hyatt and Hilton are all putting solutions in place in order to assist affected employees and their families, such as setting up finding to be distributed to families with the most pressing need.

In addition, changes to cancellation policies for most accommodation suppliers are in place through June 30, 2020.

Here are links to the most current adjusted cancellation policies for some of the top vendors: Marriott International, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Hyatt Hotels, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, IHG, Radisson Hotels, Accor, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Choice Hotels, Airbnb.

CTM will continue to monitor changes to the industry and provide additional information as it becomes available.
