As part of the awareness campaign, we would like to bring to your attention the following developments and updates related to the prevention of COVID-19 spread.

RECENT UAE GOVERNMENT MEASURES
The UAE government urges everyone to STAY AT HOME except for emergencies such as buying groceries or medicines. Dubai Police is conducting STAY AT HOME campaigns and patrolling.
As advised by Authorities, only use of personal cars with no more than three individuals inside the vehicles. Further updates regarding the use of public transportation and taxis are expected shortly. Please refer to the official sources.
Temporary closure of all public and private beaches, parks, swimming pools (public and private), cinemas, fitness centres from 22 March for a period of 15 days and subject to review and evaluation according to the National Emergency and Crisis and Disaster Management Authority

The authorities urged to comply with the instructions and guidelines issued by competent health and security authorities, primarily staying at home, limiting social contacts and avoiding crowded places to ensure their safety and wellbeing.

Fine or jail will be enforced against all violators according to the UAE law on communicable diseases.

IMMIGRATION AND TRAVEL UPDATE
All inbound and outbound passenger flights and the transit of airline passengers in the UAE are suspended for two weeks as part of the precautionary measures taken to curb the spread of COVID-19.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MOFAIC) introduced a new service called "Tawajudi for residents" who have valid residencies and are outside the country. The service helps their safe return to the UAE in emergency situations. Residents can register through www.mofaic.gov.ae

Visitors who are currently in the UAE and unable to leave the country due to the closure of airspace and border crossings of many countries will be allowed to continue their stay in the UAE legally, according to the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship.
Dubai authority warns of risk of cyber attacks. The Dubai Financial Services Authority highlighted that the current situation can increase financial institutions' vulnerability to cyberattacks, phishing attempts and fraud. Please pay attention and exercise vigilance in respect of using online tools and payment methods.

MODUL Dubai reminds and requests any member of MODUL who has recently travelled outside the UAE or has been in touch with a suspected or confirmed individual with COVID-19 to inform MODUL Dubai administration instantly to receive further guidance via the following address:

Considering the circumstances and in line with the Government directives, for all holders of the valid UAE residence visas and valid insurances, it is strongly recommended to avoid any travel unless it is urgently required.
In light with the KHDA directives, any students or staff members of MODUL University Dubai must declare their recent and upcoming travel arrangements and shall upon return to the UAE from ANY country self-isolate for the period of 14 calendar days irrespective of whether they have any symptoms or not.

In all cases of novel coronavirus in the UAE, patients are treated free of charge. Please ensure to cross check that your insurance cards (or e-cards) are valid and accurate. Please refer to the Dubai Health Authority website and official channels to learn more about it.
