Airline Waiver Updates and Extensions

DELTA

Delta Air Lines is extending its waiver to assist customers who may be impacted by the global health concerns of the Coronavirus.

Delta’s Travel Exception Policy may change at any time without advance notice.

Applies to Tickets Issued on/before: March 21, 2020

Affected Area: All U.S. Domestic travel (travel solely within the U.S. 50)

Impacted Travel Date: March 17, 2020 - May 31, 2020

Tickets Must Be Reissued On or Before: May 31,2020 for Cabin   to Cabin or December 31, 2020 for Class to Class

New Travel Must Originate On or Before: May 31,2020 for Cabin to Cabin or December 31, 2020 for Class to Class

UNITED

Original travel dates extended for waiver qualification. United Change fee waivers are in effect for tickets purchased on or before March 2, 2020

Tickets issued on/before: March 2, 2020

Original travel dates: March 9 - May 31, 2020

New ticket must be reissued on/before: December 31, 2020 or 12 months from original ticket date, whichever is earlier.

This change fee waiver applies to: All fare types, including Basic Economy, bulk, fixed, etc.; All destinations; All points-of-sale; All travel up to 12 months from the original ticket issue date

Future itinerary changes: Customers can change to a flight of equal or lesser value with no change fee. If the new fare is of lesser value, a residual value can be issued. If the new ticket is a higher fare, the customer only pays the fare difference.

Tickets issued between March 3 – 31, 2020: The change fee waiver announced March 3 is still in effect. The fare rules for tickets issued between March 3 – 31, 2020 have a $0 change fee and the change fee is automatically waived.

AMERICAN

No change fee if you bought your ticket before March 1st.

Affected Area: All cities served by American

Impacted Travel Date: tickets bought on or before March 1, 2020; scheduled to travel March 1 - May 31, 2020

New Travel Must Originate On or Before: travel must start by December 31, 2020 or within 1 year of date the ticket was issued, whichever is earlier.
