Airline and Hotel Updates Amid COVID-19 Restrictions

Airlines Cutting Capacity

Many airlines have reduced their flights for the month of April in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. United, for example, reduced their April schedule by 60% including a decrease of 85% of their international flights and 45% across the US and Canada. In addition, airlines are taking steps to assist travelers, such as eliminating change fees, to make trip cancellations and changes easier.

Hotels Further Amending Cancellation Policies

Hotels have also responded to the outbreak, with all major chains making modifications to their cancellation policies. Airbnb also announced that it would allow hosts and guests to cancel reservations through mid-April without penalty.
