As part of the awareness campaign, we would like to bring to your attention the following developments and updates related to the prevention of COVID-19 spread.

Recent UAE Government Measures

  • The UAE has suspended the entry of all valid visa holders, who are currently out of the country, for a renewable period of two weeks effective noon on Thursday, March 19.
  • All visas for tourists and employees outside the country shall be suspended from 17 March 2020. From 19 March 2020 no visas on arrival will be issued until further notice.
  • Hosting parties and wedding celebrations at home or outside is prohibited until the end of March
  • Public parks and outdoor entertainment destinations are closed until end of March
  • All cinemas, theme parks, electronic gaming centers, gyms, fitness and massage centers are closed until end of March
  • Museums, libraries and historical sites are closed until the end of March
  • Tourism activities, including sea cruises, floating restaurants and desert safaris are suspended until end of March
  • Shopping malls in the UAE revisiting their opening hours. Please refer to the malls official websites for updated working hours. Carrefour supermarkets, pharmacies and medical clinics are excluded from the changes and mall doors will remain open to allow access.


  • Immigration and travel restrictions are being regularly updated. Please refer to official sources for updates on entry to the UAE, flights suspensions, quarantine measures and others related questions.
  • The UAE Authorities are calling the public to avoid panic and rumor spreading. Please be cautious as spreading rumours and unofficial information which may create confusion or panic amongst residents is punishable by law.

Protecting Yourself and Others @ MU

At MODUL Dubai, health and safety of our students and staff comes as the highest priority. The administration is monitoring the situation and implementing continuous preventive measures.

It is important that each student and staff member takes individual pre-cautions and acts responsibly towards themselves, their beloved ones as well as their classmates and colleagues.

MODUL Dubai reminds and requests any member of MODUL who has recently travelled outside the UAE or has been in touch with a suspected or confirmed individual with COVID-19 to inform MODUL Dubai administration instantly to receive further guidance via the following address:

Considering the circumstances and in line with the Government directives, for all holders of the valid UAE residence visas and valid insurances, it is strongly recommended to avoid any travel unless it is urgently required.

In light with the KHDA directives, any students or staff members of MODUL University Dubai must declare their recent and upcoming travel arrangements and shall upon return to the UAE from ANY country self-isolate for the period of 14 calendar days irrespective of whether they have any symptoms or not.

COVID-19 Treatment in the UAE

In all cases of novel coronavirus in the UAE, patients are treated free of charge. Please ensure to cross check that your insurance cards (or e-cards) are valid and accurate. Please refer to the Dubai Health Authority website and official channels to learn more about it.
